50 self-penned songs of different styles – rock, pop, folk. The themes include sorrow, laughter, love, politics (Saor Saor Seisear Bheirmingeam (Free the Birmingham Six)/Sráid Bombay (Bombay Street)/Staid Éigeandála/Glan Amach as Ár nUiscí), songs about places (Cladaí Caoine Chonamara/Dún Lúiche/Máire Loch an Iúir), and songs about people (Seán Ó Riordáin/Pádraig Ó Conaire/Cormac Mac an Ailín), emigration (Go dté tú Slán/An Bád/An Mhuintir a Chuaigh Romhainn),
‘Dúil gan Fháil’ is the title of my first album of Irish songs and it is from this that I took the title for this collection of my Irish songs. (‘Dúil gan Fháil’ means ‘unfulfilled desire’ and ‘Dúil ar Fáil’ means ‘fulfilled desire’. So, the title means ‘Unfulfilled Desire to Fulfilled Desire’) .
The book contains the Irish lyrics of all the songs with an English translation and the songs are on a triple CD.
